Fabian Manning was born and raised and still resides in the town of St. Bride's.  Following two years of employment in Fort McMurray, Fabian returned home in 1983 to work full time in the family business.  It was at that time that the seeds of Fabian's political future were sown as he became involved in the economic and social development of, not only his home community, but the entire region.

Fabian has dedicated his career to serving Newfoundlanders and Labradorians at all three levels of government.  A three-term councillor in the town of St. Brides, he also served as Coordinator for the Cape Shore Area Development Association for three years.  Fabian would go on to win three elections to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly as the representative for Placentia - St. Mary's.  He was subsequently elected as Member of Parliament in the federal constituency of Avalon in the 2006 federal election.  Fabian would go on to chair both the House of Commons Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans, as well as the Conservative government's Atlantic Caucus.

On December 22nd, 2008, Fabian was appointed to the Senate of Canada on the advice of The Right Honourable Steven Harper, Prime Minister of Canada.
